Corflute vs the hardware store off-the-shelf sheet
Bunnings and similar stores carry corflute in a small number of pre-cut sizes, typically 2400 x 1200 mm in 3 mm white. That works for simple protection jobs, but signage, packaging and display work usually needs specific dimensions, heavier 5 or 6 mm stock for rigidity, or printed-face quality sheet without surface scuffing. That is where a plastics supplier earns its keep: exact cut-to-size panels, consistent print-grade surfaces, colour options, and volume pricing that undercuts retail by the time you pass a handful of sheets.
Common corflute applications
Real estate and election signage (3 to 5 mm printed panels), temporary floor protection during construction and renovation, packaging dividers and layer pads, garden and pet enclosures, model making and set construction. For outdoor signage expect three to five years of UV life from quality Australian-spec sheet; for permanent signage consider ACM panel instead, which we also cut to size.
Cutting and fabrication
Corflute cuts cleanly with a knife along the flute direction, but cross-flute cuts and curves are far neater on our CNC equipment. We supply routed shapes, drilled sign blanks and scored fold lines on request, and can slot panels for interlocking display and packaging assemblies.
