How thick should an acrylic shelf be?

For a retail display shelf up to about 300mm deep and 600mm wide, 6mm acrylic is the everyday minimum. Longer or deeper shelves move to 8mm or 10mm. Heavily loaded shelves should be specified with edge support or polycarbonate to avoid long-term sag, which acrylic is prone to under sustained weight.

Can you supply matching brackets and mounting hardware?

Yes, we can fabricate matching acrylic or PVC brackets, supply clear shelf clips, or drill the shelves for your preferred fixings. For high-end retail displays the brackets are sometimes routed from the same material as the shelf so the system looks consistent.

Is plastic shelving suitable for cool rooms and food prep areas?

HDPE and polypropylene shelving is purpose-made for cool rooms, food prep, and any wet area where stainless or chromed wire shelves would corrode. They wipe down easily, do not harbour bacteria along seams, and cope with temperature swings without warping.
