With a conversation. Send us a sketch, photo, or description of what you are trying to achieve and we will come back with material suggestions, an indicative price, and any concerns about feasibility. Most projects then move through a quick concept and a prototype before we commit to the final build.

Will you sign an NDA for a confidential prototype?

We don't regularly sign these but have done in the past.

Can you scale a prototype up into production once it works?

Absolutely, the workflow is set up for it. The prototype confirms dimensions, material choice, and assembly steps, and we can then either run small batches in-house or build a jig so larger volumes are repeatable. We have done this for everything from one-off art pieces to ongoing OEM components.
