What is the difference between rigid PVC and foamed PVC?

Rigid PVC is a dense, solid sheet used for industrial covers, chemical handling, and structural components. Foamed PVC (sold as Foamex, Komatex, and similar) has a closed-cell core that is much lighter, easier to cut, and ideal as a printed signage substrate. We stock both in a range of thicknesses.

Can you route 3D effects into foamed PVC for signage?

No, we CNC cut shapes and letters only. These are supplied as flat pieces.

Is PVC suitable for outdoor signage?

UV-stabilised rigid PVC and foamed PVC both hold up well outdoors, although foamed PVC will gradually chalk and lose colour after several years in full sun. For signs that must stay vibrant long-term, ACP or UV-stable acrylic with a printed vinyl overlay is a better choice.
