Polypropylene resists most acids, bases, and salts at room temperature, including hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid (dilute), sodium hydroxide, and chlorinated water. It is less suitable for strong oxidisers and aromatic solvents. We can check a specific chemical against our resistance chart if you are unsure.

Can you fabricate full tanks from CNC cut polypropylene?

Yes, we cut all the panels to size, machine any flange and fitting cut-outs, then weld the tank together using hot air or extrusion welding. This is how most of the chemical and process tanks we build for industry are produced, sized to the available space rather than off-the-shelf dimensions.

Is food-grade polypropylene available?

No, we recommend natural HDPE for an engineering plastic that is food grade.
