About Twinwall
Here at Associated Plastics we supply the Laserlite Multiwall. It is a premium polycarbonate sheet which offers a lightweight glazing panel with great impact resistance. Multiwall is a hollow material, similar to Corflute.
The internal channels create sealed air chambers that insulate roughly like double glazing, while the sheet keeps the impact resistance and co-extruded UV protection that polycarbonate is known for. The structure also diffuses light, which gives even, shadow free illumination. Thicknesses run from 4 mm through to 25 mm in clear, opal, bronze and grey.
We cut twinwall to size for your project and supply the glazing bars, channels and closures to install it properly. Talk to us about the right thickness for the job.

Pros
Best insulation of any polycarbonate product thanks to the air chambers
Light enough to handle and install without heavy structural support
Diffused light suits growing and daylighting applications

Limitations
Diffuses light, so it is not the choice where optical clarity matters
Solid polycarbonate is stronger per millimetre of thickness
Cut ends must be sealed with closure tape to keep out moisture and insects
Twinwall versus the alternatives
Solid polycarbonate
Twinwall insulates far better and weighs less for the same thickness, and usually costs less per square metre. Solid sheet is clearer and stronger per millimetre.
Glass double glazing
A 10 mm twinwall panel insulates roughly like standard double glazing at around 1.7 kg per square metre, against roughly 12 kg per square metre for the glass equivalent, and it will not shatter.
