Why corrugated board

The fluted layer sandwiched between the outer liners is what does the work. It absorbs impact, resists crushing under stacked loads, and provides a degree of insulation, all at a fraction of the weight of a solid board of equivalent strength. That combination is why corrugated cardboard box packaging remains the default for shipping and storage decades after cheaper alternatives have come and gone.

Choosing the right size

The Cards Carton suits greeting cards, small parts, jewellery and lightweight mailing boxes. Half A4 and A4 are the everyday eCommerce sizes, taking books, apparel, boxed goods and document volumes. A3 handles larger flat items and multi-item orders. The Cube is the general purpose moving and storage box, and RSC1C is the long carton for bulkier freight, framed items and awkward shapes.

As a rule, pack to the smallest box the contents will fit in with room for a little protective fill. Oversized cartons cost more to freight under cubic weight pricing and give the contents room to move about in transit, which is where most damage happens.

Flat packed and easy to assemble

All cartons are supplied flat packed, so they store efficiently until you need them and take only seconds to fold up and tape. That matters if you are holding stock in a small storeroom or working out of a home office, where a stack of pre-assembled boxes would take up space you do not have.

Packing tips

• Tape the base seam along its length, and add cross strips for heavy loads
• Fill voids so the contents cannot shift, movement causes more damage than impact
• Keep the heaviest items at the bottom and distribute weight evenly
• Do not overfill, a bulging carton loses most of its stacking strength
